DIET OF ATHLETE

Any physical activity and particularly sporting activity, except for optimal health, comprehensive and systematic training, is significantly influenced by eating.A suitable food composition is based on the proportion of the reception of two basic nutrient groups referred to as macronutrients and micronutrients. These nutrients provide the functionality of the human body, its development, stress management, help the restoration of bodily functions and stabilization of good health.

Macronutrients (protein, sugars and fats) represent the basic components of diet and are especially basic building, energy and stock components of our body. The amount and composition of the income of macronutrients should respect the not only the absolute extent of physical load, but must also consider the kind of sports activity.Suitably set the income of the protein-sugar-fat components provides our body a certain amount of energy whose feed must be set to a range of physical activity. It is statistically proven that in conventional life is considered to be optimal income at a balanced proportion of individual nutrients around - 10-15% of protein, 60-65% sugars, 25-30% fat.Daily intake of nutrients varies depending on the species and scope of sports activity.

Supplementary but, an irreplaceable group of diet components are micronutrients that do not bring in energy organism but significantly affect metabolism and physiological processes and stabilize biological functions. These include mainly:

- Vitamins - Human organism does not know to create most of them and therefore must obtain from food (eg vitamin A, B, C, D, E, H and K). Their natural income is often replaced by artificial supplements of concentrated substances, therefore it must be taken into account that we can bring undesirable "overdose".

- Minerals - Natural minerals are also essential for organism health. We accept them in relatively low doses (e.g. calcium, magnesium, iron and phosphorus) and their income from available food and balanced diet is sufficient.

- Trace elements -There is no need to pay particular attention to their income mainly because they are sufficiently contained in the diet and are richly represented in the quantity of available mineral waters.

Our health is related to the optimal supply of macronutrients and micronutrients contained in the diet.Their deficiency or excess leads to medical disproports, or also to form different diseases. It is particularly important in sporting activity where a varied, harmonic and comprehensive diet must be set, not only in terms of its quantity whether its structure and quality of the embracing, but in particular with an emphasis on the appropriate regulation of excess income of macronutrients and insufficient income of micronutrients.
