BUILD THE HEALTHY SELF-CONFIDENCE

So how do you build healthy self-confidence?

First of all, it is important to note that the basis of a person's self-confidence is formed within 8 years of life. It is formed on the basis of the environment in which the child grows up, whether his parents accept him as he is, for which his parents praise or criticize him, or how much independence they leave him. We can still influence and shape this foundation, but we cannot create it from the ground up.

Healthy self-confidence is built on concreteness. "I'm a good football player" is too general to work under pressure. What exactly are you good at? What is easy for you? In which situation do you feel okay? And when does it stop working for you? What can you always rely on? Get to know better yourself. It is important to be specific in this so that you know what you can rely on even in the most difficult situations. Here are some tips on how to build healthy self-confidence every day.

1. Take the first month to get to know better yourself. Remember the key achievements in your life, what were they like? Which of your qualities helped you to do that? What are you proud of for yourself in that week/day/month? What did you really manage? How did you react when you succeeded and when you failed? How did you feel? What was going on in your head? What was your body language like? Write down each such situation and make an evaluation at the end of the month. You will be surprised yourself.

2. Write down your 10 strengths and 5 things you would like to improve. Be as specific as possible.

3. Regularly improve your strengths and work on the things you want to improve. Even 10-15 minutes a day is enough. But regularly. Regularity is key to moving forward.

4. Consciously step out of your comfort zone. Do what you fear once in a while. Do what you are uncomfortable with. Overcome it when you are tired. You strengthen your self-confidence by managing specific situations.

5. If you do not succeed in something, tell me how you will handle it correctly next time and turn the letter over. You are also just people, mistakes are natural. Let them make them and use them for further development. Excessive error analysis will not help your self-confidence.

6. Treat yourself to praise, rest or reward after a good performance. You deserve it.

7. Check how you talk to yourself. Internal speech directly affects our self-confidence. Be kind to yourself.

And the key question in all situations is: If this happened to your best friend, what would you tell him and how would they react to you? Try to respond to yourself.

Before, during, and after the performance

1. For self-confidence in performance, it is necessary to prepare well in the first place - hard and honest training, nutrition, sleep, or drinking regime. It will help you to feel better.

2. Before exercising, focus on what you want to do in the exercise and what you can directly affect.

3. If you make a mistake, continue what you have been doing. Focus on the 1 action you are going to do now (eg winning another ball, taking the player correctly, a simple pass, ..). This will return you to performance.

4. Pay attention to what thoughts are going through your head - try to turn the negative ones into positive ones.

5. Keep an athlete's diary. Write min. 3 things that worked out for you in the performance and min. one you want to improve from the future. Based on this, set goals for the next training - what do you want to focus on in the next training?

6. Build self-confidence especially on your progress. You don't focus too much on results. You can give your below-average performance and win. Or give your best performance and lose. However, neither reflects your level of ability and builds self-confidence that is very unstable and directly dependent on the performance of others. Compare yourself only. It's just about you. Not about teammates, opponents, coaches. It's your journey, your career, your life.

7. If you start to succeed, continue what you have been doing until then. Don't stop working, don't miss details. It is important to continue the hard work at a time when you are doing well.

In the end here is a quote that we were inspired with. We hope our tips help you on your journey.

"It's not the mountain we conquer but ourselves." Edmund Hillary, explorer.
