HEALTH CONDITION AS A BASIC ASSUMPTION OF SPORT PERFORMANCE

Physical activities, stabilization of health, and strengthening of physical and mental condition at various levels of performance and endurance, but sports in general significantly affect our lifestyle. Running, swimming, cycling, small forms of football and hockey, as well as other sports and sports activities bind increasing social reflection.

Our lifestyle presupposes an optimal correlation of health conditions and ways, forms, and levels of improving physical performance. In other words, if we want to achieve further physical development, we must know our own health status, physiological and performance parameters.

Monitoring the health condition begins with anamnesis, a kind of elemental mapping of physiological parameters, documenting important changes and body reactions, as well as used drugs and supplements. In this process, important clues are sought for the assessment of the next diagnostic procedure before the physical testing, determination of blood and urine parameters. Blood analysis provides us with information on the values of biochemical parameters and their difference from the reference ranges, including their impact on performance and health. Urine analysis provides information on the drinking regime, diet, but especially on excess or potentially toxic substances, possible urinary tract infections, or inflammatory processes in the body.

An active lifestyle based on long-term performance, but especially the performance of elite sports, should also include systematic monitoring of our body in functional diagnostics of the cardiovascular and pulmonary system (ECG, Spirometry, Spiroergometry) metabolic evaluation. This knowledge allows us to better develop physical activity and train more effectively. A comprehensive assessment of health status and appropriate interpretation of the results of functional testing is knowledge for the correct grasp of limiting the possibilities of physical performance with the expression of development recommendations for athletes, depending on the type and extent of sports activities. Quality sports performance can also be supported by a physical diagnostic of the musculoskeletal system, which provides us with basic information for the evaluation of the biotechnology of gait and muscle balance. These and other limiting factors affect quality sports performance and prevent damage caused by chronic overload.

Health predetermines sports performance, but its quality and efficiency are proportionally affected by regeneration, mental training, nutrition, and drinking. All these factors are important and influence each other, their uneven setting or neglect can negatively affect the entire sports performance.
